RM 85 brake mods

Hey Walter, can I upgrade my brake caliper for my Suzuki?. I'm pretty heavy so i'm looking for a little more stopping power. I know there is the EBC rotor would that also help?

Is it an 85? What year?

yes RM 85 2003

All EBC oversize rotors I ever bought came with the necesary caliper carrier/bracket, so you should be able to just buy it and bolt it on, anyways you may want to also upgrade to a better bigger caliper.
I've just got a 03 RM85 myself so I'll be working on the brakes soon, I'll let you know what I come up with, there's 1 thing I can anticipate you: I wont be using RM85 hubs. good luck!

mmm... a lot more power, and great front brakes available, but I like my little RM handling better.

Im getting ready to upgrade my front brakes on my RM 85. Did u find a solution for yours?

I haven't done it yet but I have ordererd some caliper I want to try, I'll let you know when it's ready

whatever I do for mine I don't think it's going to work for yours because I'm not using RM hubs.
the problem is there's not a good rotor for RM hubs, even using the EBC oversize rotor the friction band is so narrow it's impossible to use a good caliper, you have to stick with the OEM caliper with those tiny pads, and I think you need to make a custom bracket to relocate it, because the complete kit EBC sells is for the newer RM (different fork leg)
that's why I'm not using RM hub, plus I have heard that using the oversize brakes have caused some of the 3 little mounting tabs on the hub to snap, and I don't think that'd be nice.
I would use cr85 hub, they're strong and there's plenty of good OS rotors available for it

if I get the hub from a cr85 how much will it cost me the set up like urs with u doing the job?
